Homebound Services

Homebound instruction is for students who cannot attend school for extended periods because of illness, injuries, or chronically recurring physical or mental conditions as verified by a licensed professional. Students are expected to be out of school five or more consecutive school days. Applications must be approved by the Homebound committee. The Admissions and Release Committee (ARC) shall determine placement for student with disabilities if the student is expected to be out of school for more than 10 days.

Students are expected to return to their school when their physician allows it.

Mental health verification

For mental health conditions, pursuant to KRS 159.030, homebound applications must be recommended and signed by either a licensed psychologist or a psychiatrist.  Homebound applications submitted for mental health conditions must contain the appropriate signatures.
