Laker Success Academy

The Laker Success Academy is a non-traditional education program designed to increase the success of students with unique circumstances who require flexibility and additional support. The Laker Success Academy's objectives are to provide students with a positive educational experience that will assist them in obtaining a high school diploma, to increase graduation rate, and to reduce truancy. This will prepare these students to be better equipped to enter a postsecondary education, the workforce, or a military career.

Considerations for Student Enrollment

The Academy selection committee will consider the following factors when determining placement into the Laker Success Academy:

6. Enrolled in a pre-apprenticeship program
7. Special circumstances as determined by the committee

Application Process

1. Students must obtain an application from the guidance office.
2. Once the application has been completed, return it to the guidance office.
3. The committee will review the application and decide whether or not to permit an interview with the student.
4. If a student is selected for an interview, a time and date will be set, and if under 18, parent/guardian attendance is required.
5. Students will be informed of the committee's decision within three days.
6. If a student is accepted into the academy, he or she will be given further instruction by a representative of the committee.
7. If a student is denied acceptance to the Academy, he or she may obtain an application to appeal the decision from the guidance office and must return the completed appeal within ten days.
