Accepting Sealed Bids-Commercial Ovens & School Buses

The Russell County Board of Education is accepting sealed bids two (2) commercial ovens and three (3) school buses. 

Immediate Openings for Substitute Positions subs

Russell County Schools (Jamestown, KY) has immediate openings for substitute positions (teachers*, custodial, food service, instructional assistants, nurses, etc.).  Please visit https://russell.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx to complete an application or call the Russell County Board of Education at 270.343.3191 for more information. 
* Substitute teachers must meet one of the following requirements:

1) Hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants who possess a bachelor's degree in any subject area from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of post-secondary education do not need to meet the minimum grade point average requirements (KRS.161.102); OR
 

2) Have at least ninety-six semester hours of college credit with at least a 2.5 GPA; OR

3) From sixty-four to ninety-five semester hours of college credit with at least a 2.5 GPA

RC Board of Education Approves Virtual Option virtualschool

At  the August 19, 2021 special called meeting of the Russell County Board of Education, a virtual option (Virtual Learning Academy) for school year  2021-2022 was approved and subsequently we received approval from the Kentucky Department of Education (August 20, 2021).  Virtual learning platforms will be the primary means of instruction with supplemental educator support as needed.  The virtual academy will not include students' regular (current) classroom teachers.

Free Community WIFI HotSpots

Throughout Russell County, several different locations are offering free WiFi in their parking lots and/or inside their locations.  All of the schools in Russell County have free WiFi available and this list will grow.  If you organization, business or church wants to be added to this list please email Michael A. The Russell County Board of Education will be accepting sealed bids on various surplus vehicles: 1997 White Ford F150 4WD, 2002 Blue Ford Taurus, 1996 White Dodge Ram 2500, 1999 White Chevy Tahoe 4WD and 16’ Gooseneck Trailer w/ramps and a lot of 60+ VHF Wide Band Bus Radios (mostly Kenwood brand).

Russell County Schools Back-to-School Survey

As Russell County Schools plans for the return to school for the 2020-2021 school year, we need input from our parents/guardians to help in our decision making.

New Student Registration 20-21

Russell County Schools will be holding NEW student registration for students K –12th grade who are new to Russell County on July 6–July 10.  The registration will be held at the Auditorium/Natatorium Complex in Room 114 from 8 AM–4 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and from 8 AM–6 PM on Tuesday and Thursday.  Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate, social security card, immunization certificate, and custody papers, if this applies to your situation. Turn at the stoplight in front of the middle school, and Room 114 is directly across from the guard shack on the end of the ANC. Please have one adult only come to register the child (unless childcare is an issue), and, as per CDC guidelines, a mask will be required. If you have additional questions, please call (270)343-3191.  Thank you for trusting Russell County Schools to assist you in educating your child!

The Russell County Board of Education approved an amended school year 2020-2021 calendar and schedule at June 15  regularly scheduled school board meeting. The new start date for students is Wednesday, August 26, 2020.
